"Greetings, Traveller!" A little Borderlands diorama
« on: December 27, 2011, 07:10:50 PM »
I had to put off posting this, because it was a Christmas present for a mate of mine. He got the present by now, so I can finally show it off to you lot....  :)

He and I play a lot of Borderlands co-op (it's a shooter game on the PC). So this year I decided to surprise him with a homemade gift.
A Borderlands bounty board:

The Claptrap ("helpful robot") is from Black Cat bases, the crate is from Fenris, by way of Hasslefree.
The rest is scratchbuilt from styrene, blister pack and mayo tube ;D... Oh, and the white metal ribbed cables are from Dragon Forge Designs, I almost forgot.
Lots of fun to build, even more fun to give.

Work in progress shots are here. I didn't take too many, as I was working towards a deadline...

Hope you all had a nice Christmas, and will have a good 2012!

Thanks!
The (wanted) posters are taken from screenshots and online concept/fan art and printed in a smaller size.
I scrunched them up and smoothed them back out again to give them a worn look. After glueing I darkened the paper edges with a wash. Easy but effective.

Very nice, it would fit in well with any kind of post-apocalyptic wargame.

I played through all of Borderlands and all it's DLCs with a Buddy of mine, it was great fun blasting those psycho midgets to hell with an oversized revolver/hand cannon =) We never managed to beat the "secret" boss, though (the giant crab from one of the expansions).

Great work.  Borderlands was a lot of fun and had several interesting characters suitable for gaming.
