This AC was called 'Panzerwagen "Leninpanzer"', collectors number 100, in the GDR. It was made by ESPEWE, a model car producer of the GDR. Nowadays they are hard to get, but pop up on ebay Germany from time to time.
Qualitywise it is very close to the older Matchbox MoY-cars of the late 1960s. The overal detail is nicely done. The paintjob is a little bit grainy. The turrets were made of the notoriously hard (and probably brittle...) GDR-plastic, surprisingly with the cover for the
non-existent Maxim machine guns. Maybe this has something to do with the deficiency disease of the GDR economy. Inserting new barrels shouldn't be that difficult.
The front lights suffer from some nasty sink holes and should be filled and repainted.
The cover of the rear axle is made of a rather soft green plastic. And so is also the cardan shaft which should be replaced with a length of brass wire.
When I looked at it for a closer examination, the AC fell apart. The rivets which held the upper hull were a little bit weary...
That was something which I didn't mind as I plan to strip off the paint anyway but it revealed some interesting insights.
All in all, if you should have the the chance to get one for a reasonable price (but certainly not more than 30 Euros...), get it by all means. It's nice.
