28mm Napoleonic compatibility advice needed
« on: January 22, 2012, 02:06:11 PM »
Hi all,

Does anyone own something from each of Front rank/ Perry/ Victrix napoleonics?
I'm thinking of getting some front rank generals as the others are a bit steep for me and Front rank sell single figures, I want wellington and Napoleon so it's first choice if they mix well.

I don't mind if there's a bit of difference but I don't want Napoleon looking like a 6 foot bodybuilder so if anyone has first hand experience of how they match up, I'd appreciate your advice.

Cheers

Matt

I wouldn't mix Front Rank r&f with Perry/Victrix r&f,  but do use all three manufacturers in seperate units. Don't really think you will have much of an issue with the officers if you are basing them individually.
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

Front Rank figures generally mix well with Calpe and Elite.

They're also OK with Perry but the styles are different, i.e. FR are chunkier, and some of the Perry figures are, like Foundry, sometimes noticeably smaller even within a range e.g. the Perry Prussian gunners are on the small side.

But you can successfully have them all on a table at the same time as I do at the moment and they look fine!

Cheers,

Paul

I use them all at once on a table :)
I am a heathen though, as I much prefer FR over Perry

For generals as individual pieces I dont think it matters but would agree in mixed units I would avoid them
