First miniature done... now, just ~62 more to go (for my planned entries).  o_o

If I can get more than three teams done for the entry window, I'll enter. Otherwise I won't be able to finish as much as I want in time. On paternal leave until mid April, so get a few hours for painting every day during nap time. I need that, cause I'm darn slow with the brush! =)

 lol

Yeah, that's the problem with the LPL.  I have all the minis that I want to paint (barring a couple purchases) all lined up.  It's a little intimidating seeing them all up on the shelf, staring at me while I paint.  Little buggers are just reminding me how hard it was last year...

Of course, it doesn't help that I like to bounce around.  Last night I basecoated all the red on the models for rounds 2, 4 and 7!

I had a rummage around in some old Wargames Illustrated magazines last night trying to find out if some of the old 28mm figs I had were indeed pre 1991 o_o
Found it, they are advertised as new in Oct 1988, result, team no 1 ready for painting sir lol

Nice one Kerry. I suspect there's a whole lot of delving deep in the lead mountain going on around the world today  lol

I found my old Garrison 'not Star Wars' figures from about 1980. Ye gods, I'd forgotten how crude they were (not to mention how shit my painting was when I was a teenager)  :(

Happily an ex role-playing chum gave me a big bag of unwanted lead a few years back, and I have rummaged out something much better lurking in the bottom, complete with '1985' handily stamped on their bases...  :D

Oldest thing I found and will be using are some Star Trek Andorians by Heritage Miniatures, blister states copyright 1978 Paramount Pictures Corporation...

So I`ll actually be painting figures from my birth year  o_o

lol lol lol You guys crack me up... ;D...This is one theme I'm prepared for....I have less than 20 figures that are NEWER than 1995...or at least started production before then.

Its one of the hazards of being an old lead head....and well...just being old... :'(

Now LoTR and Maritime are a bit of a stretch for me...off to eBay!

Well you can still buy that range from EM4, if they're the Copplestone ones. Are they really more than 20 years old?  ::)

Excellent! I'm looking forward to participating in this new LPL and I was already hoping there'd be a new one not too long ago. The bonus rounds are interesting, old lead is a breeze for me, Tolkien is a bit trickier but I might be able to wiggle some more old lead into the entries and I have no idea what to do for round ten yet. But that's a worry for another date. I'll have to get three teams painted first 8)

Regarding the rule changes, I'm very curious how it will work out, I did enjoy adding digital titles to my entries but I think less photoshopping and more scene setting can really put the focus back on the hobby aspect of this league.

So, great news and I'll be happy to compete!

Yeah thats them. Im gonna have to research the dates aint I.
Im going to Crusade on Saturday so if they are too young I can hopefully find some antique figs on the bring and buy.

Yeah - I have more or less allready forfeited those bonus points. Being a retro Citadel nut I don't have any problems with old lead or LOTR. I still have my round 10 entry from last LPL to do, which just happened to be LOTR. =)

I'll have to look far and wide for anything fitting for round 10 which also fits me.

Oh well, another fellow painted now. 61 to go... ;)

I'm thinking of entering, too. I just hope I don't get 1 day away from finishing my first 3 entries only to read a "Sorry, we're full..." announcement.....!   :'( It'll mean the "Projects" page on my site will have to "go dark" for a bit, but it's not like I haven't gone months without an update before!

Prof: Is it the first 50 who get their first 3 submissions to you, or will you wait till the deadline and then sift among the entrants?  I'm okay with either method, just was curious...

What happens if you receive 51 qualifying emails at 12 noon on the "opening" day?

Or is that too unlikely as to be considered?   ::)
