Gordon and Hague pre-painted ACW, what's the score?
« on: January 25, 2012, 08:24:11 PM »
Hi all,

Not wanting to knock a manufacturer too hard, at least not until I've heard what everyone else thinks, I thought I'd ask your opinions.
Looking at the prices and the painting quality, I'm curious, does their method work, who's buying, is this the new model for future marketing?
I thought they were showing savvy (the buyer see's they're easily improved with a little brushwork and invests), but seeing the price, I wouldn't charge that for painting figures properly so........

What's the score?

Cheers

Matt

I did not see a figure size in their description so assume they are 6mm? The cost is working out at around 50cents a figure so I am gessing that they are really basic paint jobs and basing.

There does seem to be a market out there as some people I gamed with whilst in the UK and currently game with here in Canada only ever buy painted figures. Gaming to them is all about the game rather than the figures.

As a painter and gamer it is all equal - the painting the game presentation and the game are all of equal importance.

10mm according o the website.

Depends on whether you prefer playing or painting.

The "made in China" label makes me instantly un-interested.
