Chaos Dwarf Warriors
« on: January 27, 2012, 08:21:11 AM »
In the ongoing series of what I labelled `Prjoect Insanity` on my blog, in which to try and get an army painted from well, zilch, to a 2000 points force for a small tourney like affair in the club in less then a month, the newest unit has steamrolled of the painting table.

So that makes half a unit to go and then i can finally start preparing my LPL6 entries  o_o

Oooh pointy hats :)

Not my cup of tea these models, but the unit has a nice look. I can defenitly see them steamrolling :)

Would love to see a GW bring out a new plastic Chaos dwarf, but at the moment I'm sticking to 3rd ed. dwarfs :p
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

I always have been a sucker for their Babylonian style dawi zharr myself.  Even though i have sheer amounts of the old and the new FW style ones, and about everything `alternate` I can get my greedy paws on, it`s the `huge hat, huge gun` of these fellas that won me over to the army waaaay back in `94 when Alan Perry first sculpted them.

And the hats are a god`s blessing to balance templates upon  lol

I never like balancing templates on my models...  overall it's a bad sign when you have too...  ::)

Still, can't deny that these guys have a certain charm!

How many of them did you manage to collect?

Around 15000 points, all needing a repaint after 15 odd years

I really like the big-hats, and this look great. Is that a hoofed foot in the first row, the 3rd from the right.

I look forward to seeing more of your army.

I'm afraid I'm a pre-big hat Chaos stunty fan personally, never got these at all, (physically or otherwise) but nice to see new paint on old minis.

Cheers

This...note my avatar... ;)  But that said you make these guys look GOOD!  I love your color scheme (I use Red and blue for my vanilla dwarfs) and the sheilds are a great choice too...and oh yeah...you excellent painting doesn't hurt either... :D

Nice Work!

15000pts!!! Christ man you should sell those big hats and retire!

Very nice.  Are they based to look like they are in a lava field?  Simple, but very effective.

Thanks all for the comments

@ Blue in VT: it`s the retirement plan for in about 30 years  lol

@ Bobbo: yeah, breaks up the otherwise dull looking grey of the bases.  And I didn`t want to base my `love army` on the all to common green bases.

Looks great to me but might look a tad better if you were to base them more looking forward than on an angle.
