In between painting for other people I occasionally manage to work in something for myself. I have been collecting the beautiful Eureka Wars of the French Revolution range since it came out, but Napoleonics in general have always been a favorite subject. Enough blathering, on to the pictures!
First up are a general and aide de camp from Front Rank. I have no real use for these in my 1796-7 games, but Front Rank are such a joy to paint that I find it hard to resist painting them.
I also found it hard to resist picking up CP Models French personalities, despite the fact that I already own at least three other Napoleons!
Generals Custine ("General Moustache") and Desaix
Generals Kellerman and Kleber
And finally, General Bounaparte
Opposed to them is a solitary Austrian General (Eureka)
From the dizzying heights of field command to the lowly laborers behind the scenes, I now bring you Eureka's French artisans. First up, the armourers to keep the generals' swords sharp and polished!
Next the wheelwright to keep their personal baggage rolling.
Finally the field bakery. An army marches on it's stomach, after all.
And a close up. You can't help wondering what that bread tasted like.
Apologies for the generally shoddy photography and slight shine (and my shadow cropping up in two of the pics!). It seems the new formulation of Testors Dullcote is not nearly as dull as the old.
