Never having painted camo uniforms before, I thought I have a practice on these 6 figures. Only about another 60 to go!

They are made by Offensive Miniatures

Hey Dave, sadly enough you don't live close by, we could play Carentan . Very nice paintjob man, on equally splendid mini's. Offensive does the trick for me in that regard

Very nice. If you care about historical accuracy, the FJ wouldn't normally have splinter camo trousers. It's not impossible late war as there was a lot of mixing and matching as supplies dwindled, just not very likely. If they were camo, they'd probably be more likely to be Italian camo.

Very nice.  I second the trouser comment.

Also, I can't see if you painted the 'rain drops'.  I hope you didn't.  In reality you can't see them at over 20 odd feet. And everybody insists on adding them when in reality they wouldn't be visible. 

I can't see them on yours, which makes me like them all the more!

Matt, I feel flattered that you'd want to copy the photos for your paint station, so go ahead. Also check out the gallery on the Offensive Miniatures site. I don't know who painted their examples but they look great. Some good adice is available on Nick Farnworth's pdf on the Artizan miniatures site.

Nice work on these guys. You mention this is your first time painting camo so well done. Always difficult to achieve on the first go, but you have nailed it.

The Offensive miniatures looked quite detailed.

  Fantastic paint job. Love the polkadot scarf/neckerchief. We now know what unit these are   Re the camo trousers-Axabrax is spot on. But the FJ were at times issued the reversible white/splinter B winter suits so in colder weather the trousers are fine.

I paint for Offensive, and I did some of the figures on the adverts. I tend to tone down the splinter cammo for scale effect. Just personal taste, but I think it makes them look more 'period'.

It does seem a shame though to do the splinter pattern and then almost loose it!

Ditto on the cammo trousers, although there is a theory that 500 battalion, a penal SS para unit wore pea pattern cammo pants.
