You can use the tip of a sharp scalpel to pick them up and position the smaller ones  :)

Those nail art things are the solution I am looking for. My main problem will be keeping them away from my young daughters...
So much to do, so little time...

Mine is too young for that, but if I let her see them....

There are faceted ones and round dome ones if you look through the listings. For some reason the dome ones seem to cost more, not sure why.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Some of the images in eBay are not that clear in showing if the little buggers are faceted or domed, have you found a specified item that is domed? I am after a large number of 1mm and 2mm domed gems. (not pink).

The Pearl ones are definately domed, not sure about any others but at 1mm I'm not too sure it matters.

Why not pink? You're going to paint them aren't you?

Right, I've just ordered a bag of 20,000 1mm black gems. Looking at the close up pic I don't think you'll be able to tell particularly but it was less than £5 for all I'll (hopefully) ever need. I also ordered a pack of 2000 2mm half pearls in assorted colours for 99p. If you want I'll take pics when they turn up?

I was just kidding, they will be painted...but pink would be more attractive to a 7 year old girl...

Thanks for the link, let me know what the ones you have ordered are actually like. I reckon 20,000 would keep me going for a while. This model I am making is really just a test before I build something a bit bigger that will require a lot of rivets. I think the 1mm will look much better than the 2mm ones I am cutting.

Made some progress on the underside. I have fitted the underside hull with tubes to allow for the flying base.

Have now added more "steelwork" and loads of rivets.

As I have not decided how to fix the prop yet, I thought I would make the rear underside engine compartment a removeable panel. I sorta want the prop to rotate, but can't decide if (a) I need to paint it first, or (b) just how I am going to fix it...

Shaping up nicely.  :)

I can't believe how neat some people can work. Such a tidy workstation.

Mine looks like a Claymore mine has gone off beside a shop's glue and paint display.
But this are doubles up as my home office so I have to be tidy!
