By the way I'm not offended by being called a Yankee so much as I think it's odd or funny for someone to call all Americans Yankees although I understand it's pretty common outside the U.S.  I still think it's odd though.  :)    ]

Here in the land of oz, an older slang for americans is septic, as in septic tank, as in yank, as in yankee. Still hear some people of my fathers gen use the term. And for those of you who dont know what a septic tank is, its where the waste from your toilet system goes =) I of course would never refer to our american brethren as septics, if for no other reason than there are a sh!tload more of you than us! =)
And in the fury of this darkest hour
We will be the light
You've asked me for my sacrifice
And I am Winter born

Oh that's fine as long as all Britts don't mind being called English.  Everyone from Great Britian is English right?

Ha, the English tend to do that almost as much as the Americans, so they won't mind a bit.

Those pesky Celts (and some mongrel Anglo-Celts, which is what I am) tend to have conniptions about it, though!  :)

Damn right they have conniptions about it, like I'm having now! :x

Isn't Yankee a coruption of the word English, used by native Americans in the 1600s or 1700s? :?:
