Looking for suggestions: 28mm medieval ballistas

I'm looking for some medieval siege ballistas - great crossbows and espringals in 28mm preferably with some crew, or suggestions on making easy scratch build versions.

I thought if there was nothing readily available at a fair price, some 54mm crossbows on a pedestal with perhaps plastic Perry crewmen would be a cheap option.

Thoughts or experiences?
