City of Lost Children
« on: April 15, 2012, 11:24:38 PM »
Have just seen this film (Alasdair keeps watching French films to practice his French).
It may not be weird wars, but it's certainly weird.

Sort of 1920s/30s setting with odd science, a crazed scientist and a circus freak show, but visually very good with some interesting sets.
The cult of cyclopean child-abductors might fit into a cthulhu setting too.

Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

It did drag a bit after a while though. Delicatessen on the other hand was perfect.

I saw it a few years back, thought it was pretty good, although I don't seem to remember much of it.  Ron Perlman, right?

Never heard of Delicatessen, will need to check that one out.

Delicatessen is a much better movie, but City of Lost Children has more interesting elements for pulp miniature gaming (sinister hurdy-gurdy man, evil siamese twins, kid gang, Cyclops gang, etc.).

Anyone have some good suggestions for figures to represent One, Miette, etc.?
