US Airborne squad for SoTR: Edit 4/18/12 FJ test
« on: February 29, 2012, 09:41:26 PM »
I finally finished my US Airborne squad to start off SoTR.  Not the best pics, as my photo equipment and booth suck. But it's progress!

Next up is their Mecha support (some AT-34 Red Blok mecha), then their Fallshirmjager OpFor for demo games.

More pics can be seen at my blog ski2060.blogspot.com

Sharp looking figures.
Like the terrain, looks like mud.

Re: US Airborne squad for SoTR: Edit 4/5/12 Mechs!

I now have support for my Airborne squad!
4 US Light mechs to bring the armored support from the sky!

They still need decals (reminder: get decals), but paintwork and bases are done.
The picture isn't all that great, taken on my phone. I will get better pics after decals are applied and I can set up my meager photo equipment.

I did learn that I need to work on pigment use.  I tried using some pigment washes and dusting, but the matt sealer and dullcote really reduced their visible effects.

Ok, I started work on my FJ's to use with SoTR 1949.  These guys are going to be used as either Elite pathfinder troops for a Droptrooper Platoon,  or the basis of an Armored infantry platoon, with mecha and drop troop support.

I am trying to go for a splinter pattern look, and these are my 2 test models to start off with.  I'm nothte greatest painter, but I think they are coming out well.  I tried to do the raindrop pattern on them, but it did NOT work out well, and I went back over them to remove the raindrops.

I need to work on my skintone painting, but I think these are decent for Weird War 2 gaming.  No Golden Demons in my future ;)
