Khurasan Hercules Powered Loader
« on: March 07, 2012, 07:21:32 PM »
Just finished the powered loader. This should go nicely with the Gunbird dropship.

I built it with an enclosed cockpit, you get parts to do several versions, my pack included some weapons as well. I filed down the front plate flat and pianted it to look like glass. Hazard markings all the way, tarmac base. From the looks of it, people interested in 20mm sci-fi will find this useful as well.

Order it here: Khurasan Miniatures , TTC-2010A, retails for $6.99

Size reference to 1 eurocent coin

Terrific machine you got there!

I think I will try to use that in my next 1/72 sci-fi project.

How tall is it for those not familiar with euro coin dimensions?

Just a base size will help (what you have it on.)

I'm thinking of getting some as background cargo hauling bots for an infinity table (spaceport freight zone).

It is on a 40mm round base, if that helps.

40mm base helps a lot.
Means it's exactly the size I thought it was - and makes it perfect as a drone cargo lifter.
So it will fit in with my 28mm stuff.

Very nicely painted :D .

My only quibble is the lack of detail on the miniature itself.

It must be quite hard for the makers of 15mm miniatures to get the balance of detail right on their larger miniatures. This miniature is about 30mm tall and at that height, I would expect a few more details on the joints and maybe things like door handles and a few panel lines. I realise that the smaller miniatures have a restricted amount of detail but I guess there is a play off between sculpting something that has a decent amount of detail and trying to keep in line with the rest of the miniatures line... difficult, I guess.

It looks great. I think I will have to pick up a few myself.
