Confrontation Scarecrow for commission
« on: March 12, 2012, 10:10:28 AM »
Well, finally I have a decent photo setup. I'd need a better camera and some skill more but I'm pretty happy with the result.
Some time ago I painted this nice mini for a friend of mine. He choose the colour and here is the result of a night of painting :)

Hope you like it guys! :)
As always C&C welcome!

VERY WELL DONE...that wasn't the mini I was expecting, so I had the bonus of a pleasant surprise. I really like the tones you used on the skull. I'm sure who ever is going to be receiving this little gem will be delighted.

Thanks Al! :) Wich mini were you expecting?
The pal who received this mini was happy enough to give me more (goodies!) to paint. I'll show the production.

Well, if I were a crow, I'd be scared by that.

...that wasn't the mini I was expecting,

Me neither, I thought we might be treated to the sight of Neran the Scary.

Nice work on this guy. I have the same fig sitting in the leadpile somewhere. Such an excellent sculpt, and he looks really great for just a single night's painting.

Thanks Tomogui :)
Such an excellent sculpt it's really easy to paint. Normally I need more than a night to paint a model.

Faber,

I love the figure and the PJ...excellent work.

On the Photography...it looks like you are off to a good start...these pictures look great!  I would experiment with turning your gradient card around though...In my experience I prefer the darker color at the top of the photo and the lighter at the bottom...like in the picture of the other scarecrow shown above.

Just a thought.

Keep up the good work.

And here is the miniature owner :D
I'm really happy you like it. And this model really fits perfectly into your freeboter assassins gang :D Once you have finished the team you have to take and share a group shot!

Many thanks Blue! :) I have to find a decent camera for a better result...mine is really old.
Actually you could be right about turning the backdrop. Especially for this model, white on top  :?
And the backdrop of the picture posted by Tomogui seems really more effective.
Thanks for the suggest, really really appreciated mate!

Really nice, I hate painting Rackham figs because of all the tiny details, but you've done a great job.
I've got this figure, mint in it's box, I'm just waiting for it start going for silly prices on ebay  ;)

About details...It depends from the mini. Some rackham's were really really crowded by an excessive amount of details but not this one. Sooner or later I'm going to paint the rackham's son of ogmios and it will be a real challenge :D
