Chaos in Cairo
« on: March 12, 2012, 09:36:50 AM »
So, having bought the Ansars from Joe5mc with the thought of making a small Sudanese army, i turned my thoughts to an Arab warband for the 1920s as I have Chaos in Cairo and .45.

While I was at WMMS yesterday I bought the 4 packs of suitable Artizan figures from their Pulp range and a pack of Perry's Arab Civilians from their Crusades range.

Who else would make/sell suitable figures in the UK?  Bob Murch's range is not great, but I have the US sailors for a backup group on a PMC gunship and his merchantsailors for my cargo vessel.

I already have a collection of PMC Arab buildings and the ready painted ruins that are available.  I may well buy the PMC dhow, though.

So, what goes better with Artizan, the Blue Moon range or the West Wind?

..and anyone have some of these for sale or swop?

If you're still looking for suitable Arab civilians, I would suggest the Eureka ones, available in UK as well:

Thanks for that, although they look more Indian than Arab.

I have a set of Perry's plastic Ansar that will do for The Swords of Ra Warband.

I've got them and was going to mix them with Perry's Crusader pack, to me they were looking very compatible, but it doesn't mean much for sure.

I bought some of Brigade Games Napoleon in Egypt Ottomans for my Swords of Ra.  Not sure when I'll paint them, but you can't go wrong with Paul Hicks' work.

Are the Blue Moon figures compatible with Artizan/West Wind/Pulp Figures?

Agis and Tom Weiss's downloads look good.  :P   I already have the Doc Savage figures.

I was going to send an order to Pulp Figures but the thought of extra taxes is off-putting!

Just had an order from Nick: Artizan's Arab command with the lovely Imam and four Pulp figures that I didn't have in my collection.

Those Brigade Ottomans are excellent figurers.
Thanks for the picture.

It's been a while since I enjoyed painting figures for a period, so, after reading the Doc Thompson stories at the start of the this section, am seriously considering dumping my WWII project (unstarted) in favour of some Brigade British in Wolsely helmets and German Schutztruppen with an armoured car each.  Thoughts?
