Scupted by Erik Trauner and available from Germania Figuren

Hi Paul,

I have been following your posts and blog for a while now and I am amazed at the stunning work you are doing. I have one question though: the 1/72nd figures that you tend to paint, are they metal, hard plastic or soft plastic or a mixture of all? The detail you are able to bring out on them is phenomenal and I just can't tell.

Thanks  :)
Itīs a mix. Most of my collection is plastics..the general "run of the mill" mass produced stuff, HaT, Italeri, Zvezda etc. A couple of years ago I shifted from ancients to medievals (the stuff from valdemar was too tempting) and got into resin and metal alongside the plastic figs.
I am still a little sceptical about metals in 1/72nd but the casting seems to be getting better in the last couple of years..for example, this lot;

3 are resin and 2 metal...I canīt tell which is which anymore unless I pick them up and their resin / metal twins are exactly the same as each other.
