Dark Future
« on: March 21, 2012, 09:33:46 AM »
Hi all, I'm after some advice.  After purchasing Dark Future on a rose tinted ebay whim I'm now looking at getting some more toys.  Can anyone recommend a good manufacturer in the right scale?

Cheers all!

Most anything in 1/72 scale will work, some of the "up" sized hot wheels cars will work and Jada toys has some with weapons on them that fit nicely.

Way back when, I used the hot wheels quite a bit.  If you want to get away from the toy aspect, you can use HO scale cars.  A bit smaller but they work fine and have great details.

I never did actually take a long look at Dark Future despite being something I've always ment to investigate more.

It was certainly one of the more interesting things in the old copies of White Dwarf my uncle had left at my grans house which I used to read when I was a wee lad.

Some of the 20mm ranges work well, (there's one with us marines and soviets in nbc gear who's name escapes me Eniehem or something)...

Vehicles wise, matchbox, hot wheels and Jada are the way to go.

Cheers

Many thanks for the replies.  Matchbox or Hotwheels was a given.  The stan johansen link was very useful.  I'll look up Jada toys and also elfheim.  So thanks again to you all.

A useful link I found was this:

There are also some great 20mm terrain manufacturers.  The best thing about this scale is that it works for Road Rage, Dark Future, Car Wars 5th Ed, Warlands as well as a few other systems, and with a small purchase from Twilight, the minis and vehicles are perfect for a Zombie Apocalypse game!

I'm in love with 20mm.....  I just finished one of the Dark Future plastic bikes.  I tried to paint Goose's bike (as did the person who owned the set before me) but it looked awful at this scale. I think the fade they did in the movie is too subtle to show up at this scale meaningfully.  So I painted it like the Big Boppa, not too original either, but they will help make a great Op's force!  I'll post pics when I have the other two painted as well.  This week or next.
