FINISHED: Wheat's Louisiana Tigers
« on: March 25, 2012, 05:10:38 PM »
So this is my version of the Louisiana Tigers, one of the most famous (or infamous) units of the Civil War. I do have to stress that they are NOT historically accurate  :smt009. The stripes on the trousers should be thinner. Also, they did not wear leather jambieres (the leather straps holding their trousers in place) They actually wore white leggings over horizontally striped socks (white and blue) And I believe they were armed with the shorter Mississippi rifles instead of the regular Springfield or Enfield rifled muskets.

In any case. That would take up too much time, converting and all (let alone painting their socks). I thought painting their trousers was bad enough. I do know this, I don't think I ever want to paint another unit like this again!  :smt043

I based my figues on the piece of artwork here below. Don't know who the artist is but I think the color scheme looks great and enabled me to crank them out quite quickly. again, sprayed the models with a light grey primer, block painted the base colors and dipped them with army painter Dark tone

I hope you like them!

They look very nice, I doubt anyone would uberhaubt notice the small differences in their colourings.

They LOOK like the Tigers if you see them on the table or, in my case, on the picture so they must be the Tigers for sure
