Thank you. It resulted in very fun moments, as anybody wanted to control the camera or tried impossible o bold actions if the camera was recording in the area, or the players trying to agree to film a wide part of the board and then try to lure the action to this zone...

There were some more simple rules like if something was happening in front of the camera, the camera could not be moved until filmed (new dinnosaurs, events or heroic actions, fights) for one turn.

It is easy to advance the egocentric behaviour of the players.. eh, heroes  ;).

Next thrusday we will play the next two (and last) scenarios. I am playtesting the first one to test if it is too easy or difficult. And I have made some pictures. I post a picture of the pit of death.

Thanks!

Well, we are thinking if we can go to Tactica this year, so perhaps it could be possible, but to play your lovely Innsmouth game  :D.

On the other hand, if some of you come to Mallorca (perhaps you have been in holidays here?), I am sure we can arrange something and we will very pleased to do it.

Last thrusday we played finally the last two secenarios of the campaign. I am going to post now the game reports and some pictures of the games.

6th scenario: The Pit of Death!!

At the end of the past scenario, the dino hunt, the heroes are divided more or less in two groups as they go back to the expedition camp. But when the second group arrive to the camp, their parters have dissapeared and they find fresh stains of blood and missing equipment.

As they are trying to find clues to know what has happened, Rhana, the blond godness of the Valley, emerges from the jungle and tells them that the warrior tribe that inhabits the area has captured their friends and took them to their village where, probably, are going to be sacrified to the reptile gods!

As you can guess, the heroes go to rescue their friends and, tracking the prints arrive to the village, that is protected by a fence. There is an entrance guarded by two warriors, who seem more interested in the music of drums and chanticles that can be heared from inside. What is happening there?:

The answer is that one of their friends, Winston Winsther, has been thrown to the Pit of Death! and the villagers are feasting it. Is perhaps because he is the porter of the strange medallion they found in the cave? He is not sure, as he can not understand a single world of the speech that the Shaman and the tribe lider give him before throwing him to the pit... The expedition porters and the cameraman are prisioners in one hut, while the other captured heroe is thrown into another hut, where he find another captured european explorer, the Proff. von Hauptman.

Here you can view another picture, from the village side. Almost all the natives are watching the pit, with their attention put in the approaching slaughter:

The board is 60x120cm. One part represents the village with a fence that separates it from the jungle and the roaming beasts. One of the hut contains a hero and the Proff., and another one the porters and the cameraman:

This was a difficult and complex scenario... the players deployed in three separated groups:
- One of the heroes in the pit of death, trying to survive the great gorilla inside, and surrounded by the tribe warriors that are looking the spectacle.
- Another one and the Proff, prisioners in one of the huts.
- The porters and the cameraman in another hut.
- The rest of the group, in the jungle, trying to enter the village through the guarded entrance.

The objective is to rescue the expedition members, find and take with them as much of their robbed equipment and proofs as possible, exit the village and, in the jungle, find Rhana who will wait for them to guide them to the Valley exit through the Volcano pass!!

Will they be able to acomplish all the objectives and survive the challenge?? You can bet! It does not look an easy task at all!

Luckily for them, the adventure films have nor arrived to the Valley yet, and with the "I feel not good" trick, the hero lures one of his guardians inside the hut, where is knock down with a precise blow. And take his weapons. The other guard, looking with envy at the pit espectacle in the distance, does not find out what has happened to his partner...:

At the same time, the heroes that were in the jungle, approach silently to the guards and eliminate them before they could give the alarm. Seems like the fortune is with them...:

And what is happening in the pit? the gorilla charge the heroe, but he dodge the beast thanks to his experience with the martial arts. The beast roar with fury, but is not able to catch the heroe, that dodge him one time and another. The natives start to be disconformed with the espectacle. They wanted blood, but the blood of the white man! But it is a good thing for the group, as all the time he can gain with the fight and having the natives watching it, is time his partners have to acomplish their goals easily:

The big game hunter (the one that was prisoner with the Proff. in the hut) exit the hut and before the guardian can react, blows him. They are now free, and soon they meet with his partners that has entered the village:

They start searching for his equipment and more weapons, while trying to plan how they can help Wiston in the pit with all the warriors in their way...

Unfortunately for the heroes, some women see them and shout the alarm. In spite of the noise around the pit, some warrior hear the shouts. In a few seconds, the news that more white men are inside the village spread and the warriors take their weapons and run for them:

The heroes are in clear disadvantage versus the great number of warriors and retreat, trusting that their modern weapon balances the fight. But seems that the warriors are not afraid of the gunfire. On the other hand, the Brutus boa appears as a formidable foe and stops the natives in the middle of the village:

But this is not enough and the situation starts to seem dangerous for the heroes. The vile Shaman hurts the big game hunter with his poisoned dagger, forcing him to move back, while his companion covers him, being surrounded himself:

The situation is delicate and seems that the heroes are on the verge of failing when an old friend appears in scene: the King of the Valley himself that, thanks to the heroes that have eliminated the guardians, has approached the village without being noticed. The T-Rex breaks the fence and enters the village searching to his old friends!:

The fight spreads around the village, and nobody gives a chance to their foes. The heroes kill some warriors, but they are hurt heavily in the process. The Brutus boa is killed finally, and Benito the chimp is near to be swallowed by the T-Rex (a 0 in the dice), but finally and helped by some hero points, avoid it.

The presence of the King of the Valley determines the flow of the battle, as anybody avoids him. The little skirmishes end when he is near, starting in another point of the village, as the heroes try to recover the equipment and rescue the porters and friends.

Is he alone? no! he only is the last one to run from the King. Luckily, he avoids him rolling under the feet of the dinossaur and hiding into the hut:

Meanwhile, Winston has won the beast, but nobody has been there to watch a great victory of the man versus the beast! He exit the pit finally and runs towards his friends:

The heroes, knowing that all of them are safe now (or at least able to exit the village), decide to scape the village, although they have not recovered all the equipment and they have not enough proofs for the expedition being considered a success. But, hey, their lives are more valued. One of them throws two dinamite cartridges to cover their retreat, and hoping the T-Rex will delay their pursuers as they will have to protect the village from the beast before pursue them, run:

And so, they run into the jungle where, without problems, find Rhana that hurry them to the Volcano pass. There is no time to rest, as they can hear in the distance the war drums again, calling the warrior into the pursuit!:

The heroes will start the next scenario with the wounds they have finished this one. Next, the last scenario: Across the Sacred Mountain of Fire!

You just have to love the "Pit of Death"...it is just so Pulp Fiction!! Looks like a lot of fun and great looking jungle terrain, figures and dinosaur.
Victory is guaranteed to the last man standing, but always remember those whom you stepped on to get there!!
