Legends of the High Seas has arrived!
« on: January 17, 2008, 03:11:14 AM »
Gentelman,

This afternoon I recieved my copy of Legends of the High Seas from Rob Broom, (the perk of being the author). and the book looks great!

A big thanks goes to a few folks here on the forum for providing figures to make my writing look so well. Thanks to Tom Weiss, Dominic Goh, Alex Bews, your stuff looks great!

Here is what Rob Broom posted on another forum about LotHS:

"Shameless promotion, but advance order for this book on the WHW web site is now available, and its probably the fastest way to get the book.

General release should be early Feb to late, depending on where you are in the world.

I received a couple of copies from the printer yesterday (the bulk of the books are somewhat appropriately sailing across to the warehouse) and after my usual look through to ensure its all alright printing and binding wise, I must say it does look very impressive.

All who have seen it here seem to be saying its our best ever book and theres been a sudden out break of talking like a pirate around the office."

So thanks for all your help and to everyone else on this awsome forum for letting me rant about LotHS, you guys are great!

Yes Pete it has been a long journey, and I hope that the book will do as well as yours! Which reminds me I still need to pick up your rules to play as well. :)

Tim,

reveived the book today and must to say that's going to be the best book of the Warhammer Historical range. Awesome work, mate, I'm very impressed. Fantastic artwork,  countless beautiful pics with lots of figs, ships, and terrain. And really inspiring too, now i have to paint some new pirates :-)

BTW, who makes the other chinese figs (page 86, they're fighting against my guys :-)), these are really full of charakter!

Congratulations, Tim, can't wait for the next one  8)

As a recent owner of the book, just wanted to point out my delight! (No I'm in no way associated with the author or Warhammer Historical.)

One helpful fact I've learned and would like to share is that the minis on display in the book for Non-player-characters (like bartenders, cooks, serving girls, governor, etc.) can be found on Black Cat Bases website, under the Pirate section, Townsfolk: http://www.blackcatbases.com/prodtype.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=117&numRecordPosition=1

There are many different minis on display from many different vendors in the book, but finding some NPC's was a bit more tricky than just finding pirate minins. Hope this helps someone out there...
