Where are you finding all these vintage cars? I found only one site (which I have subsequently lost the link to..) that sells 1920s-30's cars.

I know Matchbox did a line of those for a short period of time, I recall seeing them but was way before I got into Strange Aeons. I would be curious also...I know Ral Partha makes one and Blue Moon makes a hillbilly truck...

Lledo is another range. They pop up very often and reasonably on auction sites.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

Great AAR, lovely scenery as always.
On a separate matter, I may be having a hard of thinking moment, but the PM I sent you with regards to location & SELWG attendance is steadfastly refusing to appear in my PM outbox, so I'm not sure if you've recieved it, so let me know if you haven't.

I got the PM, so no problem there.
Replied to it just now.
Hope to catch up with you at SELWG, if you are going.

I bought them ages ago on ebay, most of them as a bulk lot, when I had a hankering for doing a gangster game, but the rest of my group did not show any interest at the time.
There are always some on ebay, just try a search for Matchbox Models of Yestertear or Lledo.
I picked up the vans on the Bazaar.

Well spotted, styx, as most are indeed Matchbox.
There are several gaming companies that make them in the proper scale.
The ones that I am using are slightly too large in scale, but I think that they work ok.

Lledo is another range. They pop up very often and reasonably on auction sites.

They do, twrchtrwyth. Usually plenty on ebay, but they can often be found in second hand shops and 'junk' stalls at markets. (At least they can in the UK).
The Lledo range that you mentioned are usually slightly smaller and scale up well for 28mm gaming.

Awesome AAR! The mummy is great and so is the story... keep it up!

Cheers, Yetis Yell!
I am glad that you appear to be enjoying them.
 :)

I know that some prefer to see the pitures in colour, so here are a few of them:

I am so glad that you guys mentioned the cars, as they really would benifit from a bit of weathering (and the colour pictures show that much more than the 'vintage' style).
The flash does make it seem worse than it actually is, but they do need it!

A nice easy task for when my eyes cant really deal with painting a miniature...

Great pics and a well written AAR Mason.
With a con 7 and tough a Mummy's a scary beast. What extra stuff did he have in this game?

The sickle in the fruitful field;
The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

Thanks, smokezombie!
He IS pretty tough already, but he did have a couple of upgrades.
I gave him Parry (to reflect the sword the model is carrying) and Improved Command (but that was mostly to give the Lurkers a chnace to escape with the Idol- two fellas to carry it!).
They NEED to keep hold of that Idol.
 ;)

Nothing too game-changing, although the Parry obviously helps a lot in combat.

Nice part 2. I appreciate the color photos as well as the black and whites.  :-*

I love how the mummy showed up and the agents started to drop like flies.

That's one scary mummy.

Aubrey old chap.
I have some intel on where I might find those devious cultish chaps, perhaps we can co ordinate something, I'll give you my mans number. I've a score to settle and could use some assistance.

Absolutely cracking AAR Mason! Captured what was a very enjoyable game, despite Henry's demise. Actually, I was never sure what to do with that rifle of his anyway, so I was happy enough that it allowed me to recruit the Dutch clergyman, Father De Betta, to the cause. And that medic of course!

Iaac's surname is Kite, by the way! Not that he'd notice, he's too busy these days being mad...

Great work on the AAR and the scenario itself, old boy - you continueto provide top entertainment of a Thursday evening. Keep up the good work!

COOL PHOTOS! The sepia ones are wonderful for atmosphere & the color ones for mini presentation.

I thought that you would like the colour.

That Mummy certainly did seem to be really angry!

Sorry about the misspelt name , mate.
I am sure that was what he said..... ::)
More on that Medic later.

Still unsure which is the better, colour or 'vintage'?
I think I will post the other AAR in colour and ask what is preferred.

Right then, off to weather some motors...

 lol
I wouldnt dream of it, mate!

After my attention was brought back to the vintage cars, I realised that I needed to get around to weathering them. They quite obviously needed it and it shows up pretty badly in the AAR pictures.

Last night I made a start and got the first two done.

Both vehicles are 1927 Talbot Vans from the Matchbox Models of Yesteryear range.
The Cultist standing next to them for size comparison is from Pulp Figures.

The Dunlop Tyres Van.

Chivers and Sons Ltd Van.

As mentioned previously, the Matchbox range comes up a little on the large side, but they work fine for me.

I realise that I may have overdone the weathering a little, but that was intentional, as they will be used in a future project as well where that level of weathering will be required.

I hope that you like them...
