This stuff:

Has anyone used it and does it dry clear? I've just used it to add a top layer of fine foliage to a tree and you can see the white glue through it, I just assumed it would be like PVA and dry clear but it doesn't seem to be changing colour...

Its been my experience that it dries clear. I use it to put clump foliage on terrain pieces. It takes a while to set. I usually let it sit and "Tack-up" for at least 15 mins before I apply whatever I'm gluing down to it. It could be a humidity thing making it take longer to cure.

I can't see the picture, but I have used hob-e-tac from WS to create these :

I made 'em a couple of years ago and find that the tac doesn't dry. It's still tacky, even after "sealing" it with several coats of WS scenic cement

Hope it works Dean, we've used some in the past at work and it does remain tacky but dried to a satin, slightly frosty clear. It wasn't really a problem though.

It is indeed. Hopefully will be fine, if not I'll just have to take those bits off and do it differently.

We have used some and stays white and tacky, nasty stuff yuck don't like it haven't used again since

at all .............

The best way to think of hob-e-tac is as white rubber cement. It tends to stay tacky and flexible, and at best dries translucent. It does have some good uses, the top layer of fine foliage probably isnt one of 'em.

It's fairly transparent now but does have a slight frosted effect. I've blasted it with a coloured spray to add another colour layer, we'll see how that's worked out.

Hate the stuff

Stupid size brush
Pain to get tacky as thicker lumps take longer to 'dry'
Does not hold bits on while drying
Bits fall off when touched
Bits fall off when sprayed with scenic cement
Bits fall off when stored

Hate hate hate hate it

Did I mention bits fall off

Hey Dean, I'd bought some tried to use it and it didn't work. I found the same results as Andrew. Foilage started falling off, the glue never dried and remained 'gummy' infact thats exactly what its like a gum, which doesn't seem to want to dry.... Ever. I'd offer you the bottle but it was so crap that I threw it out.

I ended up using superglue from BnQ. The stuff with a brush to apply. Much easier. Managed not to stick my fingers together! Well not to much

It's not been too bad to be honest, it has dried clear 'ish' but I'll be trying something else for the next bunch. It's holding the fine foliage perfectly well but I expect clump foliage would have troube.
