CDS might not be detailed enough for you, it is primarily for company sized games, although platoon sized ones would work too. Force on Force + Ambush Valley are the opposite, great for platoon games, but struggle a bit as you approach company size. Both are excellent rule sets in their own area though.

If you are looking at small games, I'd suggest FNG, as mentioned in the other thread here. I don't have the 'Second Tour' set yet, but the first one was good. The basic core rules 'Chain Reaction' are available from Two Hour Wargames as a free download, so you can see if you like the basic concepts. The original set had a campaign system and other bells and whistles and looked like an easy route into playing solo too.

Thanks
I had seen FNG2 and I think this is what I will go for , particularly because of the solo angle......I always seem to end up playing with myself  lol
seriously, they look very good for very small games and as ,to be honest I am more interested in the terrain and figures rather than the competetive side of the hobby, I can concentrate on getting a great looking game together and have a campaign with AAR's and pics, without spoiling the other players

I hope I have just posted a couple of pics of my terrain

I tried to mend the link but it wouldn't let me. You need to press the 'image' button on the post reply screen and c&p the photo URL. What's there now isn't a valid URL unfortunately.
