Absolutely gorgeous, Brigades Napoleon in Egypt is planned as my next project once STALKER is finished I will be saving this page as inspiration, though I could never reach these lofty standards. What paints did you use for the blue?

Oh, my! How nice are those?  :-*

I think you should make one of your fancy multi-figure bases, and cover it with starfish and sand castles. ;)  lol

 lol

Thanks chaps  :)

The blue is mainly vallejo Dark Blue (actually quite a bright royal blue), cut with black for the basecoat and white for the highlights, although i did try to vary the colours a bit by using Dark Prussian Blue and one or two other blues in the mix on a few of the figures, not that you can really see this subtlety in the pictures...

In reality of course, the jackets would have been a much darker navy blue, but this is hard to pull off well in this scale...  ::)
So i just went with my usual excessively lurid colours...  :)

I suspect a number of people are collectively breathing sighs of relief knowing these aren't likely to show up in the LPL :)

You have outdone many of your earlier works, and that is really saying something. Bravo!

They got my vote on more than one occasion in the Steve Dean painting competition and I certainly don't mind the lurid colours at all (give me the tawdry flummery of the tart any day !  lol ;D lol )

I think those stripes are crackin' but most of all I like the skin tones. What colours do you use, Vallejo skin tones? I'm still looking for a good way to achieve a smooth transition on mine.

Skin is vallejo red leather 50:50 with dark flesh as a basecoat, then the same mix lightened with white for the main coat, then increasing amounts of white mixed in for the highlights. That's it!
People often claim white in a flesh mix makes the end product look chalky.
It can do. But providing there's enough yellow and red pigments in the other colours you're using, this can be easily avoided with a bit of care.
