Boyz from da wood ... (Faces page 3)
« on: April 03, 2012, 02:46:48 PM »

Fresh out of a competition where they got the "I Was Robbed Mate"-award, whatever that means ...

I'm a great fan of these early sculpts of more "earthy", natural types of giants; all in all they seem to be quite nice guys, a bit dumb, but gentle. Well, except for the right one.  :D

From left to right:
Yeti - DSA miniatures (Werner Klocke); Giant - Metal Magic (Josef Ochmann); Cloud Giant - Ral Partha (Tom Meier); Barbarian Giant - Grenadier (Mark Copplestone)

Together with a fifth companion I had planned to enter them as an "old lead"-entry in the current LPL, but then decided not to take part due to time restraints. Perhaps next time ...
 :)

The Big Guys look TERRIFIC...VERY NICELY painted & based. The Grenadier Barbarian Giant is one I've had the pleasure of painting several times..a VERY COOL mini.

Ah great minis. Character all over them, especially the aggro one at the end.

Painting is just right - 10/10.

Top notch, Michael! I do love those Ochmann giants from Metal Magic. For those not in the know, they're still available rather cheaply from Splintered Lights Miniatures:

Thanks for the confirmation, I've corrected it.
