Saga question & Vikings

Hi,

I’ve been thinking about the Saga rules but before I invest in them, I have about 30 Vikings – mainly Huscarles – will this be enough for an army.

Also are the rules fairly simple – I’m too long in the tooth to start sweating over rules?

30 minis will probably last for a SAGA warband...

You build the Warband using points...start armys 4point and standard 6 points.  1 point will provide 4 Hirdmen or 8 Warriors or 12 Levys. The Warlord are free:)

So an start Viking force of 4 points will be 1 Warlord and 16 Hirdmen (4 of them can be made Berserks) ...

The rules in them selfs are realy simple, the depth to them are the Battleboard that gives fraction flavor and lots of option to get most out of your fraction on the gaming table...

I like the rules very much.

30 figs are enough to get you started. The rules are great! Easy to learn, and complex enough to keep coming back. Fast and fun. I was afraid of the price, and the book is slim, but damn! It is a great game!

I would say you need 12 levy (Thralls) armed with slings & or bows to add to your painted collection.

Now I would go for Warlord, 8 Hirdmen & 16 Bondi in a 4 point warband & add 12 Thralls & 4 more Hirdmen (which you already have) & you have 6 Points then you can get 4 Berserkers if you want.

As Dalauppror & LeadAsbestos said the rules are easy to learn, its knowing how to use the battleboard that's the challenging part
