Descent 2nd edition: Castle Daerion AAR
« on: October 22, 2012, 10:18:10 AM »
Played another Descent scenario down at the club, continuing the campaign (playing as the overlord) David and Martin played the two heroes.

The scenario, Castle Daerion is the third scenario in the campaign if you count the introductionary scenario. First part takes place at the village outside the Castle, the heroes arrive in the middle of an attack - the Overlords forces are killing civilians and the heroes have two tasks - mainly to lit the beacons to warn the castle about the attack, and to prevent all civilians from getting killed (in which case the Overlord wins).

Nice! I have Descent 1st Edition, and have never got it to the table. I was thinking of getting 2nd Edition but sort've resent not having got 1st all that long ago. Most people seem to agree 2nd is much better, though...

Fantasy Flight have done a 2nd Edition conversion kit, cheaper than buying an entirely new game.

Are those mummies or zombies in the second picture?

Sadly that merely converts 1st Edition bits for use in 2nd as opposed to turning 1st into 2nd.

Zombies  :)

About the conversion kit, it fixes rules for heroes and monsters - but nothing else. It's only meant for bringing old characters from 1st to 2nd edition (and all other characters from the Runebound games such as Dungeon Quest/Runewars).
