Gothic Horror Table - Vehicles started.
« on: April 11, 2012, 04:36:46 AM »
For Kubla con this year I'm doing a VSF/Gothic Horror game. I'll be using the Empire of the Dead rules.

I like to start a project like this with a layout map and I had a lot of fun setting this one up in sketchup:

If you go to my website the map has some links built in to it to lead you to the pages I've eset up for each area.

http://rotanddrivel.com/alchemist.html

All the walls of the buildings are cast in resin and then assembled.

Some of the buildings have already made appearances on LAF but I'll try and consolidate my progress here.

This is Bunbury's Coffee shop. First primer coat on. I hope to have at least six buildings in this state by the weekend so that I can get down to painting. I like to paint them in batches to help insure some continuity of color.

One of the street pieces in front of Bunbury's. Each piece is about 18 inches long and 8 across. All in all I'll be putting together about 20 of these together. Most are straight like this but obviously there will be some intersections as well.

This is a passage that will lead from the street into an enclosed yard.

This is Blacke Books. It also has a passage that will lead into the same yard as the passage above.

Just a quick picture of the assorted warehouses I've gotten basic assembly done on. The flat pieces inside them are their roof bits waiting to be glued together and fitted.

I've posted pictures of the first batch of heroes in the VSF board. These are the second group painted. Most of them are Lead Adventure figures:

Lady Carriager and Lord Addledkarma

Gentlemen of the Eglington Club

Spannerman Bob of the Busman's Guild

Adele, one of the Vampire characters.

Now for some of the residents. These are all from Westwind's Gothic Horror ranges.

Once I get all the civilians painted I'll figure out what kind of base treatment they will be getting.

That's all for now. Thanks for looking.

Mike

"Lady Carriager and Lord Addledkarma"

I see what you did there! And approve.

Great work so far.  I'm thoroughly envious.

Fantastic!!  :-* :-*
Looking forward to seeing this finished. I'm going along the same lines as you with figures for my EOTD games and using LAM's VSF/Steampunk offerings.

I would love two of those warehouses for my quayside  ;)
Don't!

I'm I right in understanding that they're your buildings and you've cast them?

That's going to be a lovely table when you've finished! Really atmospheric!!
