A spot of bloodbowl team painting - finished!
« on: April 19, 2012, 08:26:32 PM »
Evening chaps.

I'm heading off to the NAF bloodbowl cup at the end of May in Nottingham at GW central. If you ever need to get there by taxi, just ask for the 'big fascist building' and your cabbie will deliver you without fail  lol

Anyway, I need a team so have taken it as a spur to paint up the Chaos Cup figures that are based on the Mike Lewis figures from an ancient White Dwarf. Here's my take so far, with one to finish and four still to go.

EDIT - individual pictures on my blog still (click here), but here's a group shot of the finished articles:

Anyone else painting bloodbowl at the moment?

Hmm, I might not be as brave posting such large pictures in future!  lol

(especially the face of #9  :( )

More of a player than a painter here, one with a hankering for a game now. You've reminded me of the Chaos team that was built to take my Amazons apart.

As to the face of No 9, I was distracted by the belly.  lol

Good luck with the cup!

Thanks Kestrel. I'm not sure that Chaos Pact is the most competitive of teams, but it's all about the taking part, eh?  ;) lol

Most excellent team - well done :)

It is indeed, all about the taking part.  And crawling out of Rock City at 2am and still feeling rough the next morning when game 4 starts ;)

Did someone say Bloodbowl ...  :D

Nice work there

I've got to get me to a BB/GT at some point
"Ho, ho, ho! Well, if it isn't fat stinking billy goat Billy Boy in poison! How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap, stinking chip oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly thou!"

Can't go this year - but I'm going to Carrot Crunch and I'm running my own tourney in Oct. (Bunker Bowl III)

Lovely stuff, Mister Rab. Great colour scheme, and the big 'uns and the "normal" sized one alike both look fantastic. I love that Dark Elf - he thinks he's cool, but you know something bad is going to happen to him as soon as he leaves the protection of the Minotaur, Ogre, and Troll! Good luck in the competition! (or should I say "break a leg"?)

Thanks. I got them all basecoated and whatnot ages ago and then promptly lost enthusiasm when I finished the minotaur. I've regained my affection for the figures, now, as the tournament deadline has made me put in a solid few hours and I've got to know them again  ::)

He's my favourite so far; I actually got flesh tones I'm happy with!  :o

As long as it's someone else's leg, eh  lol

Yep - the flesh tones are spot on for the Dark Elf. Lovely miniature.
I just noticed your general question at the end of your initial post - the answer is "no", I'm not painting Blood Bowl, or at least I wasn't until seeing your Chaos Pact team. Now I want to dig out my almost finished Skaven (just three or four models short of a full roster!) and finish them off, and after that, who knows?
As for breaking legs - exactly. As long as it's the oppenent's leg, then everything is good!
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the team painted.

A couple more finished shots. Please forgive the slight sheen to the figures; my photography is functional at best (like my painting  lol), and the varnish is still slightly wet!

..and the apothecary, turn counter, score counter, and reroll tokens:

Beautiful team, and the reroll tokens are fantastic! I have tons of spare dice that could usefully be turned into something like this. Great idea!

Thanks chaps. Apart from a dip around player #9, I really enjoyed painting them. Taking the razor saw to the dice was strangely therapeutic  lol
