Savage Beastmen for ShadowSea - Tlactl Headhunter
« on: April 21, 2012, 01:05:10 AM »
Hi all, here is a pre-release copy of a Kev Adams beastman for ShadowSea, done up with a quick paintjob. This will be released soon by Cavalcade Wargames under their Dragonblood line. This one was primed in black, then zenith primed in white to make a grayscale figure first, then given thin base coats of light colors, creams, yellows, tan. It was then coated with inks mixed with matte medium to give the colors - mostly burnt sienna, umber, turquoise, mixed with paint. Final highlights were with golden cream color mixed with burnt sienna or just thinned. There was no pure white done at the end, but some ivory on the bones.

Gorgeous!  :-* :-* :-*

I loooove burnt sienna.  One of my all time favorite colors to paint.

Dig the Beastman too.  I may have to incorporate him in my play testing for Epic Heroes.

Fantastic Paint job... have to say though I think i've decided I really don't like Kev Adams stlye. Technically excellent sculpting, it's just not for me.

Love your abbysal Garp or whatever it's called though.

I'm not sure if Kevin is sculpting more of these for Cavalcade. He did this one a couple of years ago, actually.

Great paintjob!  :-*

It's really cool how you can see the veins in the beastman's arms.  :o

Very nice, it would make a lovely addition to a mordheim warband.

How tall is he?

Its about 40mm tall to the top of the head from the hooves. A pretty big guy.

Very nice, both the mini and the colours.

VERY NICELY DONE! The wood grain & the hooves are especially cool.
