Thanks for the comments chaps although I'm not wearing tights  ;D

Richard, many thanks for the offer but I think I'll be making everything  ;)

Got some paint on the church and started the groundwork but I've got some orders to sort out for the rest of today.

The roof will be thatched and the large tree is removable, which will be the case for all the trees in the project (easy access and all that  :) )

cheers

Coming along nicely.

Is the textured paint a homemade concoction?

Thanks muchly gents  :)

It's a mix of B+Q textured masonry paint (which isn't really  :-[ ), filler and very fine sand.

I do sleep, generally at work  lol

Groundwork is done, only things left to do are the wattle fence and the thatched roof (the items for both are in the bottom of the cupboard and I can't be bothered rooting around for them  ::) ).

cheers

You're off to a very nice start!

How did you model the tree - is it made of tree armatures for branches and a dowel for the trunk?

Great project and very nice start. Another inspirational thread I'll have to follow closely, JimB.

Same question from me about the tree?
Also a nice bit of ivy, where did you get it?
Windows are very nice but look a bit modern. They could do with a bit of lead.

The tree is an old from work and it is a brass etched one.

I think you're right about the windows Colin, I'll have a think about them. Fortunately the frames aren't stuck in yet.

cheers

Yes, some cross pieces on the windows would be good. Also I might consider a stone wall over a fence?

Thanks again chaps  :)

The church is now finished and I've done a couple of other smaller buildings to make a proper start on a village. I've also started on a barn.

It would seem that the local monks are being set upon by a ne'er do well lord and F**king Massive John is has taken umbridge to it  lol

More to follow  :)

cheers

What figure are you using for Little John? Is it the Foundry one? If so, what figures are you using for the knights? I am looking for a decent Little John for my Robin Hood games, but cannot find one that works.. :'(

Your help and aswers will be most gratefully appreciated.
