I keep coming back to make sure Im not dreaming. Ive looked at these 5 or 6 times already. I know ill keep coming back for more. Both utterly sublime. Frank and the Captain have provided my favourite entries so far this year. Completely different styles of painting yet both faultless. If anyone ever tells you there is only 1 way to paint well dont say anything, just show them these, take a few steps backward, then watch their head explode.

That suit won my vote in what was the most difficult choice of LPL6 let alone the round!  Quality painting from both of you!

Me too, almost on it's own it must have taken ages to do

A couple of quick thank-yous on my entry: Aircav for kindly supplying the undertaker (the chap in the stripey blazer with pocket watch) a year or two back. The figure was a Partizan giveaway sculpted by Mike Owen.

Frank at last! Oh well, it had to happen. Think this will be a nail-biter!  ::)

Absolutely gorgeous Masai, Frank. And wonderful mood lighting  :-*
And an almost exclusively Copplestone vs Copplestone affair, which I always love to see  :)

A couple of quick thank-yous on my entry: Aircav for kindly supplying the undertaker (the chap in the stripey blazer with pocket watch) a year or two back. The figure was a Partizan giveaway sculpted by Mike Owen.
And Admiral Benbow for the two Victorian special edition ladies from Foundry – Rose Earlly and Constance Bowbridge. Thank you Keith and Michael.
The Corto Maltese and Dr. Watson figures (also from Foundry) have languished in my lead pile for at least 12 years. Finally they see paint! This is what the LPL is all about!
And lastly, Irene Adler figure is from Ironclad. I could wish she looked a bit more like Rachel MacAdams, but she ain’t bad  ;)
The Victorian warehouse in the background is custom-built by TM Terrain, and kindly on loan to me from Senor Malamute.

Honestly, it's easier than it looks. Just paint vertical stripes, then cross them with horizontal stripes, then block in the crossover point with a darker colour to make a rudimentary tartan. Then touch in a little lighter shade in the middle of every little 'box'. Peasy  ;)

Bugger me they're all there if only I could read  o_o

OH NO! Finally a match a against the Captain :-(  …and your Gun Club is really fantastic!!!

By the way…I only used a white background for this photo and a red and yellow lamp which gives the sunrise impression.

I think folks realize that Frank.

What amazes folks is the beautiful effect you were able to achieve just with light.

Wonderful!

A very tough choice. Both marvellous and one of the best entries and what a headache to find which one to vote.
Both reserve my vote but unfortunately I have to vote only one.

I do not know yet, close my eye and go for a random vote.
Any other idea.

It's a shame one has to choose either way here; on painting skill and over all presentation both of these get a 10. The only thing that made me go for the gun club over the Massai was the second picture where most of the gun club are show from different sides/angles. I appreciate the alternate view!

Great stuff though both!

Well...,
if I was not a big fan of Corto Maltese and the Foundry Malto Cortese figure, then I would have had trouble voting here.

As said before the matchup is one of toughest this League Season.
