Victorian Era movies
« on: May 03, 2012, 05:39:54 PM »
Just thought I'd create a list of movies that are set in the Victorian Era.

From the top of my head, I can list:

The Great Train Robbery (Love this movie!)
Sherlock Holmes 1+2
The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
From Hell

What else can you add  ???

The Wild Wild West, for one. Around the world in 80 Days, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mysterious Island and lots of others. I'm sure if you did a search you would find this had been covered before.

"The Young Victoria" ;)

A pretty good film about Victoria's early years on the throne and her marriage to Albert. Takes some historical liberties, but all in all not bad. A good one for the women in your life as well (it's a favorite of both my mother and younger sister!)

If you don't want just English Arsène Lupin has a few good ideas and some nice scences

This is ok(ish) too, though ideas beat the execution

It has no scenes in Europe, but you haven't lived 'till you've seen The Man Who Would Be King.
