Yes, there were a bunch of dwarves with steam powered armour in the game (a gaming buddy had a few in fact although he sold them on some years back) but not so many (as in any IIRC) humans unfortunately.

ETA: another up-and-coming possibility - the Nuem from Relics by Tor Gaming might barely be able to pass as "human inside" if you put the faceplates on them. They do have freakishly small legs tho and I'm not quite sure how big the suits really are - that is, I couldn't find anything on their size on a short spin through the TG site.

Sebastian at Guild of Harmony produces one or two nice steam punk miniatures
(oz based)

Can't remember the name of the little company that has started up but the first figure is a steam punk one. (it's in the general section of the cool mini forums.)

sorry about lack of links etc but I'm stuck for time.

Guild of Harmony minis do look nice in the piccies but aren't what I'm looking for here. Good tip on the fantasy Chinese tho, I might not have remembered them when the time comes to write a Wuxia list 8)

The other company sounds like it might be Stone Tower:

Again, not what I'm looking for an frankly rather unimpressive otherwise too. But that's just IMHO of course.

More to the subject, I had the feeling I had forgotten one of those "let's make not-Space-Marines" companies:

The armour is a little lighter than I'd prefer for my own tabletop and of course the design is pretty unoriginal but technically if you avoid the techiest bits in the range they would just about work.

So it seems, tho again it's something that has some problems passing off as a suit of armour. Obviously if you replace the Gnome on top with a hatch/cupola of some sort and then rationalize that the trooper curls up inside the upper body, it works within reason but makes the whole thing into small piloted mecha rather than large bulky armour.

On the similar news, the Nuem from Relics look to be coming out soonish:

Yep, the squat onces might just about pass for a human inside a suit of armour although that human would have to have a pretty odd physique - even stranger than that of a Space Marine :P

But anyway, it's not a bad tip although some conversion work is required - as is with almost all of the lines mentioned apart from the Privateer Press stuff of course:

I have used the mage knight blade golem as a steam suit in the past, the legs are thick enough to hold a humans legs while the torso is bulky enough that it might contain a man using levers to drive the thing. That is when putting them next to perry miniatures, which are of course quite small for 28mm (or rather the rest is big)

Recreational Conflict's Hardsuits might just about pass muster although they are a little too "modern" perhaps:

Might be possible to remedy with a careful choice of paint schemes.
