Perry Zouaves as Steampunk Ottomans

Anyone done it? - Baggy pants - check, Fez - check, shorten the rifle, possibly add a westwind gasmask head.

I did a search and came up with nothing

I can't see why not... but I'm not much good with uniforms. I'm not aware of this being a major concern for most VSF afficionados. They would look nice alongside the Lead Adventure Ottoman figures, that's for sure.

EDIT: How about the Renegade Zouaves? http://www.renegademiniatures.com/acwzouave.htm

Slightly bigger than Perry from what I understand... but another option.

I used them as French Zouaves for my Frenchy GASLIGHT force.
They worked okay.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

For normal cannon fodder, you really don't need to do anything to them other than give them a suitable paint job and greenstuff a proper turkish fez on the officer's head.

I'm doing to use some of these as conscript troops. My elites will be VSF Turks from Warrior Miniatures' England Invaded range, which scale in very nicely.

I was thinking of using them as a base for Indian troops for my British VSF force.

I'm kind of excited about seeing them as Ottomans, and with LAM's Turks coming out, would definitely fill that gap for me....

I LOVE the idea!

How do the LAM Ottomans mix with Perry figures? I'd expect them to be a bit big.
So many projects..... so little time.......

My LAM stuff matches up well with my Wargames Factory stuff, which generally is comparable in scale with Perry, as well as Empress.

Admittedly, I'm good with having height differences... In fact I'll sometimes base things to create those variations.

I don't mind a height difference it's a mass/bulk difference I have more of an issue with.
