as far as i know, yes. can't think of any others.

there's also the wotc plastics as an option, i know you're after metal, but quite a few of the plastics look very good when stripped, cleaned up and re-painted. I re-base mine on coins to give them a bit of 'weight' when using them

Yup, grenadier produced the figures under license for the West End Games RPG and wargaming starwars rule set.

Some of the 25mm Ground Zero games minis look i keeping with starwars minis and useful for spaceport or cantina crowds, some of the military would work for non emperial/ separatist forces, and rebels of course.

Your other alternative, moving out of 25mm but still lead is that new range of figures recently released including multipose stormtroopers, boba fett and a few others (name espcapes me, stone cold's been painting a load recently). Anyway, limited range and no way enough yet to even do a skirmish game but that's your options.

Thanks for the answers guys, had a quick ebay look and the lead is expensive, what are the plastic prices like? Are they 28mm?

They are indeed 28mm. I don't have any West End ones for comparison, but here's a few repainted WotC plastics next to GW and Privateer Press models.

The prices vary greatly by figure, because it was a random collectible game so most of the named characters you'll pay anywhere from $5 to $20 for. Generic figures you can expect to be more like $1 to $3. I've been using http://www.auggiesgamesonline.com/ for years and he's fantastic, cheap shipping and a good selection. Occasionally you'll find cheaper on eBay, but watch the shipping cost.

Some of the West End Games/Grenadier stuff is getting expensive, but nowhere near as expensive as the Knight Models stuff. I have some of those minis and I'm quite happy with them, but I'd never use them for hard gaming use. These are definitely made for display. The WOTC plastics look pretty good, if bendy plastic doesn't annoy you. WOTC also made a very short run of metal miniatures when they first got the license. These were mostly player character figures, like the Female Smuggler or the Male Rogue.

That is way too expensive!

Maybe they cost a little more, but they are fully customizable.
And, they have quite a big range, including spaceships ;)

I won't tell you something different : WEG pewter miniatures in 25mm but you can only find them on Ebay at expensive prices.

The best option is WOTC Star Wars plastic miniatures. They are not so expensive but as they are now oop, some of them can't be found or are expensive.

As long as you don't want to collect them all check this french site to make your choice :

http://khryssun.free.fr/starwars-miniatures/fiches/Traductions.php

I bought my Star Wars miniatures from these sites among others (they have a large choice and are not so expensive) :

http://www.fungamesnet.fr/star-wars-miniatures/

http://www.miniaturemarket.com/

http://shop.strikezoneonline.com/Category/Star_Wars_Miniatures_Singles.html

http://www.gamehollow.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=3d232dab9bb6123c03cb80dc1969eac8

Troll and Toad has a large choice but the shipping cost to Europe is prohibitive.

Try Avengers rules on Ebay too or browse Ebay in general.

http://stores.ebay.com/Avengers-Rule-Super-Store/_i.html?_sc=1&_sop=1

Some Ebay sellers sell lots, it's interesting if you want to build an army.

If you want to buy on Ebay choose one miniature (type stormtrooper for instance), list the miniatures by increasing price and P&P. Then check the shipping cost (if I remember well you are french from Tours, aren't you).

Then watch carefully for the combined shipping cost : some US sellers offer free shipping on additional items or combine shipping at a fair price (example : $6 for one mini and $0.10 or $0.25 for each additional item).

I subscribe 100% all the YIU comments.
Last year I was looking for some SW wargaming using the old WEG rules, I have some boxes of the old grenadier minis but not enough for big scale gaming, after watching ebay for some months i decided to go for plastics, the old SW grenadier prices on ebay are so abusive to make me feel like offended.
If you are patient on ebay will find people selling whole collections of WOTC star wars, as long you dont look for rare models, remember WOTC game had common, uncommon and rares, like the superheros wizkids games or magic the gathering cards.
In some stores (trollandtoad, for instance) i remember they offered even packs by kind of troop, "stromtroopers deal" etc
