Dress Rehearsal Rag
« on: May 19, 2012, 11:32:25 PM »
Last night we had a dress rehearsal fo rthe game I'll be running at Kublacon next week. It was a great shakedown and I came away with some great input. Here are a bunch of largely uncropped, and uncommented pictures for you to look at. WARNING: Images of unpainted buildings and vehicles in use are by no means a reflection of the way our group normally plays. lol

The Dreaded Something Good - Something Bad decks. A delightful vehicle for bringing joy and despair to players in equal measure.

Players primary objective was to run around in the middle of a zombie infestation, rescuing clueless civilians and escorting them to safety.

There were two groups of London vampire players that got extra points for rescuing vampire tourists.

This poor guy didn't get his exo skeleton far from his start point. Zombies kept crawling out of the hole in the door and attacking him en masse. He did the best a man in an iron chicken with a Gatling gun can do. Even resorting to kicking a few to death when the Gatling broke down

I need more zombies.

Thanks for looking. My next batch of photos should be from the game itself.

Thanks. For the streets I cobbled a master together from plastic parts and lots of clay and then cast them in resin. Then I assemble the castings in the lengths I needed, mounting them on masonite.

Darn it!  Thats what I figured.  They are very atmospheric and highlight your great buildings.

The game and the table looks fantastic but please tell me more about the unpainted building with the large bay windows. I do not recall seeing that one on previous threads.

Thanks guys.

I'm using the stats from the game for the most part but not the mob rules attendant with them. I gave them tooth and claw so that gives them 2 attacks when most of the players have 3. In the playtest we felt the zombies were a little weak in combat with a Strength of 2 so that will probably go up to 3. Close combat seems to be the thing that drags on. We put it into the Action phase as contact occurs and through out the Wound effect roll so its a little simpler. 3 die rolls per combat (Win combat, wound and wound effect) work fine in the small skirmish games but with over 50 figures on the board it got tedious.

That is indeed the Hotel Mandragora that I have been working off and on with for a year now. Its made of castings from several different buildings. I'm still working on the front part and think a pair of planter boxes flanking the entrance stairs will do nicely.

This is the real reason Laughing Ferret's pictures of the last game were in sepia tones.  We didn't want everyone to see the buildings in their underthings.

This is all Skrapwelder, we're just lucky enough that he lets us play with his toys.

Nils (black Cav) you are right that our getting to play with the toys is a blessing.  The new rules every couple of months, I am not so sure.
