Has anyone played AE-WW2 and is it any good.

I think it's good for squad level games. I know some folks will swear by it for platoon sized, but I prefer SoTR (I am biased!)

I've only played SOTR as well and I reckon it's great. I don't think I've ever played a squad sized game. Might as well get it, I've got SOTR and DUST warfare arriving shortly I might as well grab this one.

Thanks all, I will go back and have another look at SoTR. As the forces in the book were all based on the WW figure range I did not spend too much time thinking about whether I could do my own stats, but sounds like it would be an option.

The statlines are fairly generic and it's easy to justify a statline for one type of unit that it would for another, with minor tweaks, which is why I was initially asking about hombrew.

Its my own home brew Battleground Weird WWII for me.  All the weird rules are free and based off the excellent Battleground WWII rules system by EEE.

Checkout out my stuff here (http://www.weirdwwii.com/search/label/Battleground%20Weird%20WWII%20rules)
and there stuff here (http://www.syrhobbswargames.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=SHWL&Category_Code=EEE)

Whatever rules you pick, keep it WEIRD!

I'll put another vote for SoTR. I have to armies for it and I don't have a single miniature from the official range and it works great.
