Moriarty Dead! Fu Manchu Undead and Lovin' it! Feb 3rd 1882
« on: February 04, 2008, 09:12:06 AM »
Well yesterday we played the sequel to our pre Chritsmas game where both Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson were gunned down on the streets of Old London town by Prussian agents and the hand of Moriarty.

Our game picked up several weeks after the events of the previous game. Moriarty had lost the stolen government plans vital to the security of our great empire and the safety of Her Majesty the Queen (Gaud Bless 'Er).

The plans had fallen into the hands of a mysterious underworld figure who had sent out messages saying the plans were up for sale to the highest bidder. Any interested party was to make their way to Highgate cemetary at midnight on 3rd Feb and negotiate the sale.

So was set the scene for our game.....

The various players included:

Professor Moriarty and his gang including a pschotic killer Mr Napier, recentlya rrived from the Americas and Mr Pug a huge man mountain prizefighter and assorted armed thugs.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, recently recruited by the government and dispatched to secure the return of the plans at any cost. They include Allan Quatermain, Miss Mina Murray, Captain Nemo, Dr Jeykll and Mr Hawley Griffin plus a number of crewmen from the Nautilus.

Londons finest - Scotland yard detectives including inspector Lestrade, Sergeant Godley and a number of Bobbies.

The mysterious underworld figure who had possession of the plans was no other than Dr Fu Manchu, the Devil Doctor!. However Fu Manchu had been killed during a game several years ago.( The background to many of our Victorian games has been a struggle between Professor Moriarty and Fu Manchu for control of Londons underworld.) Fu Manchu had been shot by one of Moriarty's agents and control of the Si Fan had passed to Fu Manchu's daughter.
So how to bring him back - Simple make him a Vampire! The premise was that when he was killed his daughter rescued the body and with ancient Chinese magic the power of Fu Manchu's brain he would return from death, but with a twist as the undead!
So Fu Manchu's agenda was simple he had meticulously planned revenge on Moriarty and what better way to lure him to his death thanwith the promise of vital goverment secrets. Of course Fu Manchu hadn't counted on the British Governemnt to send in the LXG! :)

Looking north from the docks towards High gate Cemetary:

The cemetary

Professor Moriarty and his party arrive by steam launch under the cover of darkness. Unaware they are walking into a trap.

The league of Extraordinary Gentleman, having surfaced in the Nautilus make their way through the dark deserted streets.

Ambush! The first attack by Fu Manchu's Si Fan assassins. There are also London Bobbies causing Problems for Moriarty as well.

The League cross one of the bridges and head for the cemetary.

Fu Manchu shows himself

The league come under attack in the cemetary. Mina Murray and Hawley Griffin hold their own.

Mr Hyde enters the fray and makes a move on Fu Manchu. Much to the dismay of Capatin Nemo who found out that his revolver was useless against the Undead.

The League give chase.

Fu Manchu's daughter enters the fray with her blowpipe umbrella!

Fu Manchu - A new breed of Vampire

London Bobbies get the surprise of thier lives as they try to arrest the foreign gentlemen only to be attacked by one of his new girlfriends!

Mr Hyde makes a mess of one of Fu Manchu's new Brides.

Highlights of the game include Allan Quatermain shooting Moriarty dead halfway through the game with one shot from his Elephant gun. He followed this up with another crack shot killling Mr Pug the prizefigter. :)
Moriartys remaining men panicked when they first encountered Vampires in the cemetary. :)
Fu Manchu's daughter using her patented blowpipe umbrella :)
Captain Nemo had the fright of his life when his revolver truned out to be useless against Fu Manchu.
Mr Hyde had lots of fun tearing Vampires and Moriarty's goons to pieces. :)
The League managed to recover the plans, but at a great cost unfortuantely Allan Quatermain was gunned down as he boarded the Nautilus, shot dead by Moriarty's right hand man Mr Napier at the end of the game.
Fu Manchu recovered the body of Moriarty and fled the board. Doe he plan to resurrect Moriarty as an Vampire..... Whatever next :o

Really excellent! I'm always amazed by how much terrain you have to play on.

Looks like a fun game, and the storyline is great too.

Damn that looks good.

As anything more would be futile, that's all I have to say about that.
