I'm on an Orc Hunt!
« on: June 19, 2012, 06:32:10 AM »
Hi, I'm looking for some comparable Orc or Half-Orc archers to go with my Bronze Age Miniatures Orcs.

You can see what they look like here http://www.bronzeagemin.com/miniatures_html/32MM/FANTASY/orcs/32mm-Orc-s-1.htm

I'm hoping some of you have an idea of where I can find some bowmen of a similar look and size.  I don't want to use LOTR GW figures due to copyright/publishing issues.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Bob

Asgard Miniatures used to do some (years ago) that may still be around
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

It's really a shame that more Frazetta inspired orcs like these aren't on the market - they're such great fun.  :)
I suggest these Wargames Factory guys.

With a little dynamic posing and some found/sculpted bits of armor and weapons, they should fit in with your Bronze Age nasties.
I'll admit it's not a good suggestion, but it's the only one I can think of for you.

Hei Faust,

have you asked David if he will release some in the not so far future?
He might, and if you ask him I could do as well ;)

No, I didn't. Because that would make too much sense to do.  lol

Let me ask him and see what he says!  Great idea man!

The RaFM orcs have the same feel, imho. probably much smaller, but you could use them as lesser orcs.

Some of Reaper's older orcs have a generally same feel to them (slightly frazetta-ish silly helmets and armor), so there's those for you as well.
They're definitely smaller, though.

I emailed David at Bronze Age and he said he has more Orcs to do, but no timeline.

I'll send him also a request, so maybe he'll start earlier ;)

I know that he's working right now on something in the line of "Fire and Ice".
Then I'll get my JaguarGod :D
