Bare Headed Lewis Gunner
« on: July 14, 2012, 01:32:47 PM »
Hi

Does anyone know where the bare headed Lewis gunner in 'The Great War' rulebook comes from? I thought it was the Musketeer 'Charlie Battle' but it doesn't have webbing where the one in the rules does.

Thanks

IIRC the one in the book was a conversion... :?
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

It appears to be one of the Great War Miniatures standard Lewis gun poses, used in both the Lewis Gunners and Brit Infantry in Gas Masks packs. But he's been given a new head. Though with the other two uses of this pose one has a leather jerkin, and the other has a sheepskin one, whereas this fellow seems to have no jerkin at all. I'm wondering if it was a one-off made by Great War from that same pose that was never put into general production? I dunno, more likely that it is just a conversion I guess.

I thought as much. I'll try a conversion myself to add some variety.

How well will the Musketeer figure fit with GWM?

Thanks

Artizan Design do a bare heaed guy in their Thrilling Tales range with a Lewis. He's plainly dressed so would fit in anywhere. The Lewis is smaller than the GWM model though.
