Brink of Battle: Sci Fi AAR "Dust gone Wild"!

    I am sorry no pictures, my camera is pushing up electronic daisies!

   Last night I played Stratigic Elites, Brink of Battle: Skirmish gaming through the Ages, with a boardgaming friend, Jordan. We used the teaser release sci-fi weapons and gear list to play a game set in the world of Dust Tactics, making it a mix of tech period 3 ( alternate history 1947 ) and tech period 5 ( alien tech stolen from the evil "Vril" and said alien menace themselves! )
   I played the Vril invaders! I used AT-43 Cogs for my models, and Jordan played an Axis force with Dust minis. The mission was Recon, and it did not go well for the Space Invaders....

   The game started with furious long range MG and cannon fire, to little effect. I forgot about half of my Vrils special abilities! Gracefull has really good stuff! ( I am making refference cards for each model now, with a list of abilities and what the do! ) But, Jordan remembered his Axis Infitraters! MG nest in a second story ruin in the middle of the table, cost me one Scout right off the bat! And thanks to the low CMD the other 2 Broke! Gaaa!
   The Sentinals Gauss Cannon Shocked the Machingunner, but couldnt kill him! Then the Heavy Laser Grenadier bulls-eyed a Clone Warrior with his Laser Cannon, and insta-killed him. Then those 2 Broke! Stupid Aliens!
    By the end of the game, the 2 Scouts ran off the table, and never looked back! One more Warrior was Wounded, and the Sentinal was Shocked, despite his heavy armor ( Laser Cannon.....) and I failed my Route check.
    Jordan lost 1 Recon Machinegunner, and 1 Laser Grenadier. I hit his Heavy Laser Grenadier 4 times through-out the game! But his Reinforced armor saved him everytime! Sigrid sat in concealment doing not much but surviving! I think once he saw how useless a Skin Suit was with Advanced weapons around, he was afraid to show her pretty head!
   It was a very fun and fast paced game, I would like to think it was close, but I was clearly out matched by Jordans tactical genius!........and my typicaly abyssmal dice rolling.....
   Next time I should have pictures!!

   Wow, just going over the rules to see where I can improve for the next game, and I realized we did the Panic wrong! Aaaak!
    For some inexplicable reason, I thought that issuing a Steady order to a Broken model allowed you to roll for panic again to recover, not that recovery was automatic! And of course, with my Clone Troopers CMD of 2  ( what was I thinking?? ) they failed the roll, and fled the table!
    If we had done it right, the game would have run quite differently, maybe!!

   Thats what happens when you are learning new rules, the file of other games mechanics in your over-stuffed noggin begin to leak out all over the place!!

Note to self: raise Clone Trooper CMD to 3......

Not entirely useless, because I like to hear that people are playing games and also to know what games they are playing. But yes, some photos would make it much more interesting.
