FIW: Warlord Games

so the Conguest Miniatures/ Warlord Games joint venture is here. The first boxed sets are up for pre-order.

The miniatures are great, but what about the price? 27,50GBP for 18 figures seems a bit steep to me.....

Hmmm. Well, Conquest Miniatures were always available at the bigger UK shows from Dave Thomas and others, so - for those of us in the UK at least - I don't really see what the excitement is about this news.
Warlord have presumably stitched up sole distributor rights, repackaged the goodies in attractive cardboard boxes (really, what is the point?) and jacked the price up. Quel surpris...

All this recent profiteering and hopping-on-of-the-bandwagon with F&IW is actually starting to turn me off a period I've always loved...  ::)

How strange. I couldn't agree more. I've been waiting in the shadows to start this and when I finally get to it so does everyone else. Put me off it again honestly.

Now if only P.J. would make a film about it that you would utterly dislike... lol

Just been playing with a currency converter, exchange rates as of today, and the equivalent number and type of figures if bought direct from Conquest in the States works out at about £19.92.5p. Of course I have not factored in shipping costs but it still seems to me a better deal to buy direct from the US. I thought this deal would actually make buying in the UK worthwhile, apparently not.

really disappointed to hear such TMP hissy fits on the LAF.

Go back to 1/72 plastics if you think that the outrageous sum of £1-52 is too much to pay for a figure-

20% of which is VAT, (possibly some more tax for import duties depending on how the project is structured)

so the figure are only £1-21.

Of more concern is who is casting the figures?
Commission Painting undertaken, PM or email me.

you forgot to add in Import Duties plus VAT at 20%.
