Dr. Zombies Japanese Pirates
« on: July 12, 2012, 10:28:22 AM »
I have been quite severely bitten by the pirate bug after we resently played a marathon pirate game.

I decided that I would start a crew of bloodthirsty Japanese pirates.
Here is a bad picture of what will be the basis for my crew.

I have started to stab some paint on what will be the ships captain. There is also a Ninja, 4 guys with guns, 2 with spears and 3 with swords. To finish of my crew there is also a Sumo wrestler and a Geisha, but they are in the mail.

And what would a pirate be without a ship. I have ordered this ship Hopefully I can get something usefull out of it. I will either leave of the roof or make it removable.

Its a nice change up to see some Wakō on here.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I have painted up the first ninja.

Can you spot him?  lol

The guy I had intended to be captain has been usurped and is now the first mate on the ship. He didn't stand a chance against this ruthless guy and his pet monkey (and his pet Geisha assassin)

Here are some slightly better pictures of the rest of the crew.

You might want to look at these ones too:

http://www.museumminiatures.co.uk/pages/prod_samurai%2028mm.html

they mainly make 15mm, but these 28mm Samurai are nice figures and include some good characters - especially the kneeling lord and his fan waving assistant
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Woul be interested to see how their buildings size up with 28mm minis.  Suspect they might be a bit small at 1/87.  The full size turtle ship is amazing.
