North Star 1672 Swiss infantry

Pic of the upcoming Swiss Pikemen. They differ from the ordinary French pikemen in that they retain their tassets and arms cops. Will do just fine for both the household Gardes Suisses and the various regular Swiss regiments in French service. Steve Saleh is also working on Swiss matchlock musketeers to complement these.

They have some nice figures. Not sure if I'm going to go 28mm or 15mm when I branch into this era.
I'm keen to make some big regiments with 15's. The regiments just look so much fuller than 28's.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Ooh! You've just made me quite happy...  :)

I was hoping for some Swiss Guards, I badgered Mark for some a couple of years ago. Presumably they're doing the musketeers as well. Now for some Spaniards, I have a real urge to paint a regiment in purple coats.

I love the figs but don't see myself building any armies. May buy a few for late 17th C. African wars though.

A mix of the 'Dutch' codes and some of the Brigade Games' King Phillip's War range would work quite well for the later campaigns against Zumbi and the Quilombo de Palmares. Foundry Cimaroons providing suitable opposition.

This range is also quite suitable to do Montes Claros and the final battles in the liberation of Portugal. How can you pass that up my friend?

I know, but my my bank account is subsisting on bread and water at the moment.  Besides, my gaming mates aren't into it. :(
The owner of this blog http://guerradarestauracao.wordpress.com/ used to be a member of my gaming club but haven´t seen him in a long time. He was building a Portuguese army and I sold him my TYW 28mm figures a few year ago.
