A good hero is often judged by the quality and evil of his adversaries. And no Zorro villain is more memorable than the dashing but treacherous Capitan Monastario (usually referred to as "El Commandante").

To offset Monastario's ruthless evil is the goodnatured though often misguided and "slightly" overweight sergeant Garcia (sometimes suspected of being a secret admirer of Zorro, based on his feeble attempts to bring the masked bandit to "justice").

Both (exellent) figures are made by Boot Hill Miniatures and painted using shades of grey for that authentic black and white serial feel.

The brave Capitan urges on his troops (from the back) to apprehend the masked bandit who goes by the name of Zorro.

Excellent work on the 'brave' Captain and Sgt Fatboy!

Great sculpts with plenty of character, you have really brought them to life.

I am loving this B+W work, takes me back to my childhood staring fixated at the B+W images.
Makes me want to drag out my Flash Gordon TV series, but that could lead me off on yet another project tangent.....

Thanks. The Commandante's tunic is a slightly darker shade than the others, but it doesn't show up so well in the pictures.

So what does one have to do to get in your customers gallery?

(I suppose you could tell me to learn how to paint them in colour).

HE has added them.

I like Masons idea for Flash Gordon in b&w. Don't think I can match these for quality though

I did some dwarves this way about 25 years ago and they were not that great

That was 25 years ago and it's certainly not as if I'm a better painter than you in colour.
