Hello all,
Thank you for all the great comments. Tom and I put a lot of work into the display and were pretty chuffed to pick up the Best display for this year's open day.
The pictures already added show the game off well but I thought I'd add a few more showing some of the other stuff we put on the table.
Prussian Gunners on "Big Bertha" scan the sky for targets over the barrels of their maxim guns.
A dinosaur Stampede mid way through the battle caused panic in the ranks of the German Askari
The jungles of Venus are not a safe place even for the local inhabitants. A pack of ravenous velociraptors ambush a troop of parrotmen riders.
Hounds squashed by a stampeding dinosaur
The Parrotmen ground forces advance through the jungle
The Banshee and Tarock sweep round the islands to attack one of the "Little Kaiser" zeppelins.
They attack with close range musket fire and incendiary molotov cocktails and are met with close range gatling guns! The flying creatures suffer badly at the hands of modern weaponry!
The Prussian Flotilla versus the Parrotmen flying horde
A small contingent of British supported the Parrotmen forces having already negotiated a favourable treaty to obtain some of the precious unobtanium. The aeronef HMES Hermes engaged the Prussian flotilla but was out gunned and out numbered and was forced to retire after losing most of the crew.
We are planning on expanding this game in future and run it at next year's Little War's event in Melbourne.
On the list to build include:
More Parrotmen Banshee Flyers
More Parrotmen Riders
A Parrotment battle Skiff (Imagine Jabba the Hut's barge in Return of the Jedi but with sails)
A larger flying British Ironclad
Another floating island with Parrotmen village.
Bye for now
Cheers
Fuzzy
