"Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf?" Well, here's your answer: Colonel Marbels! The meeting between the two was purely accidental. Col. Marbles was on a particular day in London to see a man about a horse. Not having his valet with him he got the address wrong and stumbled in to on of Mrs Woolfs litterary salons where a discussion on the, for the woman, opressive nature of marriage was in full swing. But as is often the case with oposite forces a strange attratcion could be seen emerging from the two agents: where Woolfe was the cathod, Marbles was her anode and from that day the Colonel was ever so often seen tagging behind the proud woman as if pulled by an invisible force. Mrs. Woolf, being a married woman, never comments on the affair, but Marbles, when once queried on the matter in his club, answered reluctanlty: "Well, the woman reminds me a great deal of my own dear nanny Hatchett."

Col. Marbles daughter by his fourth wife (Mary-Ann Marbles, née Tsathoggua) Trixie, does not a approve of the affair and has promised to "set her dog on that gold digger should she ever have the stomach to turn up at the estate. The dog in question is her king poodle 'Valentino'.
