Have painted Sir Robert Montfichet...

Am off on hols in a day or two, so this will be the last painting from me for a week or three :D
What do you mean? You don't bring a small bag of paint and stuff to paint on holiday? :o

Great work as ever on these, and I have to agree that there's a difference in style here. They do look a bit "stiff".

lol I don't think my wife would understand...

No, in all honesty, these aren't particularly great figures... But since I bought a box, I thought I might as well make the best I can of them. They're not awful, just a bit stiff, as you say...

Really nice. I love the way you painted the beard and hair. The face looks great too, and so does the tunic.

Have to agree, painting is superb
Not sure about the sculpting, does the photo distort it perhaps - head seems large and chest a bit small?

:-* Love it, even though the figure's crap.

Have a good holiday and come back refreshed and raring to go  8)

I believe it's because the head is a GW or other manufacturer, it's not from the Fireforge boxset.

Yes indeed, as mentioned earlier on in the thread, it's a GW Empire accessory head, kindly donated by Jimbibbly. I don't actually think it looks too big on the body, and you can't blame the slightly awkward look of the figure stiffness of the figure on that. I'm afraid the postures of the arms in particular just don't look entirely natural. Just a little bit clunky.

I am having to keep resisting making comparisons to the Perry Wars of The Roses figures, but it's impossible to draw any other conclusion really, than when it comes to capturing naturalness of pose, proportion, movement and just about everything else, the Perrys have every other plastic manufacturer licked.
